TFP Bureau, Raipur; July 3, 2024:Deputy Chief Minister and Urban Administration and Development Minister Shri Arun Saw emphasized the need for planned and balanced urban development during a video conference with senior officials from all urban bodies across the state. He urged commissioners and chief municipal officers to enhance their capabilities and focus on result-oriented work.
Shri Saw stressed the importance of cleanliness, instructing officials to improve their rankings in upcoming cleanliness surveys. Monthly reviews will now be held to ensure continuous progress.
Secretary of Urban Administration Department Dr. Basavaraju S. and Director Shri Kundan Kumar were present at the meeting. Shri Saw highlighted the significance of city development in shaping the state’s reputation and urged officials to utilize available resources effectively.
He called for accelerated development and construction work, improved public facilities, and strict action against negligence and delays. Special attention was directed towards enhancing garbage collection, segregation, recycling, and composting processes.
Reviewing progress under various schemes, Shri Saw instructed the prompt initiation and completion of projects, including the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and affordable housing initiatives. He emphasized responsible governance and active monitoring by officials.
Secretary Dr. Basavaraju S. advised speeding up revenue collection and taking action against defaulters, while Director Shri Kundan Kumar urged the quick implementation of plans related to the 15th Finance Commission. The meeting also saw participation from SUDA CEO Shashank Pandey and Urban Administration Department Additional Director Pulak Bhattacharya.
