TFP Bureau Raipur; July 3, 2024: In a heartwarming ceremony at the Chief Minister’s residence, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai and Home Minister Shri Vijay Sharma handed over the keys of a new school bus to Maria Bhatpahari, a young member of a police family. The bus, made possible through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) contributions, will serve the children of police families, ensuring their safe and comfortable transportation to school.
During the event, Chief Minister Sai introduced the Home Minister to the children, saying, “This is your father’s boss, and it is because of his efforts that you all have got a school bus. Now all of you can come to school comfortably and safely.” The children responded with enthusiastic applause and expressed their gratitude to both the Chief Minister and Home Minister.
The ceremonial flag-off included a ‘pooja’ attended by members of the police families. Chief Minister Sai emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating, “This is a commendable effort. It addresses the children’s concerns and guarantees their safe transportation to school. Our police personnel serve diligently round the clock, and this effort undoubtedly alleviates their worries.” He also urged other industrial entities to support similar initiatives through CSR contributions.
After the ceremony, the Chief Minister and Home Minister interacted with the children, inquiring about their well-being and the facilities at the Police Residential Colony. Chief Minister Sai assured the families, “I will soon visit you and share a meal of Thethri-Khurmi with tea.”
This initiative was prompted by a letter from the Police Colony Residential Committee in Amlidih, Raipur, to Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma, requesting a school bus for the children. Deputy Chief Minister Sharma informed the Chief Minister, who then directed the Home Minister to approach Ambuja Cement for sponsorship. As a result, a 52-seater AC bus has been provided, ensuring safe transportation to school for more than 150 children from police families.
Representatives of Ambuja Cement, members of police families, and school children were present at the ceremony, marking a significant step in community welfare and support for the families of those who serve.
