Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap Emphasizes ‘Sahkaar se Samriddhi’ for State and National Prosperity

State-Level ‘Krishi Sahkaar Sammelan Evam Samman Samaroh’ Inaugurated

TFP Bureau, Raipur; July 6, 2024: Cooperative Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap asserted that the prosperity of villages, states, and the nation, particularly for farmers, hinges on the empowerment of cooperative societies. Speaking at the ‘Krishi Sahkaar Sammelan Evam Samman Samaroh’ at Indira Gandhi Agricultural University Raipur on International Cooperative Day, he highlighted the vital role of cooperative societies in fostering economic development.

Minister Kashyap emphasized the government’s commitment to the principle of ‘Sahkaar se Samriddhi’ (prosperity through cooperation), envisioned by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. “Our government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi and Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, is dedicated to ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, and Sabka Vishwas,’ working tirelessly for the people’s welfare,” he said.

Addressing the impact of cooperative societies, Minister Kashyap stressed the need for tangible results at the ground level, stating, “Economic prosperity can only be achieved through everyone’s participation and cooperation.” He highlighted the multifaceted role of cooperative societies, which not only handle the purchasing and selling of paddy and seeds but also aim to develop into comprehensive service centers.

Minister Kashyap reaffirmed the government’s support for farmers, noting the procurement of 145 lakh metric tonnes of paddy from over 25 lakh farmers at Rs 3,100 per quintal, fulfilling the pledge to purchase every grain of paddy. He also mentioned the provision of interest-free loans through the Kisan Credit Card, with Rs 5,500 crore disbursed so far and a target of Rs 7,300 crore for the Kharif season.

Revenue Minister Shri Tank Ram Verma also addressed the event, praising cooperative societies for their role in benefiting the common people, promoting mutual coordination, and opening new avenues of development. “Cooperative societies have become an essential financial support system for farmers,” he stated.

The event was attended by MLA Shri Anuj Sharma, Vice Chancellor of Indira Gandhi Agricultural University Dr. Girish Chandel, and officials of Sahkaar Bharti. A large number of farmers, society officials, employees, and Drone Didi participated in the program, which included technical training sessions for farmers. The event, organized by Sahkaar Bharti Organization, was held at the Krishi Mandapam Sabha Hall of Agricultural University, Jora in Raipur.
