Korba Government Schools to Provide Nutritious Breakfast and Promote Environmental Campaign
TFP Bureau, Raipur; July 6, 2024: In a significant step towards enhancing the health and education of children, Minister of Industry and Labor Shri Lakhan Lal Dewangan has initiated a program to provide nutritious breakfast to primary and middle school students in Korba district. This initiative, launched under the new education policy, aims to improve students’ well-being and academic performance by ensuring they start their school day with a healthy meal. The program will initially roll out in schools within the Korba and Podi Uparoda blocks and will eventually expand to other development blocks in the district.
During a meeting with district-level officials at the collectorate hall, Minister Dewangan expressed his enthusiasm for the new breakfast program, stating that it will position Korba as a leading district in Chhattisgarh for implementing such innovative schemes. He emphasized the government’s commitment, under Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, to transforming all government schools into model institutions. Providing breakfast to school children is a crucial step towards this goal, as it will help students focus better on their studies by preventing hunger during morning classes.
Minister Dewangan highlighted the unique challenges faced by children of labor families in Korba, many of whom attend school on an empty stomach. The breakfast program aims to address this issue, ensuring that all children receive a nutritious meal to start their day. The initiative aligns with the new education policy, which mandates the provision of breakfast in schools.
In a separate event, Minister Dewangan planted an Amla tree in memory of his late mother, Mrs. Sonakunwar Dewangan, as part of the “A Tree for Mother” campaign. This initiative, inspired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s call to promote environmental protection in the 111th episode of Mann Ki Baat, encourages people to plant trees in honor of their mothers. The event took place in the Shiva temple complex in Charpara Kohdia, Korba, where Minister Dewangan was joined by Municipal Corporation Korba Councilor Shri Narendra Dewangan and other local dignitaries.
Minister Dewangan urged citizens to participate in the campaign by planting trees, emphasizing the importance of environmental conservation and the deep bond shared with one’s mother. He stated that everyone should plant a tree either with their mother or in her name, as a tribute to the highest and most significant relationship in the world.
The events reflect a dual commitment to improving educational outcomes for children and promoting sustainable environmental practices, highlighting the comprehensive approach of the current administration towards development and welfare.
