Chief Minister participates in mass aarti of Bharat Mata on Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee’s birth anniversary

TFP Bureau, Raipur; July 6, 2024: Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai attended the mass aarti of Bharat Mata and a presentation of patriotic songs organized by Sankalp Foundation Chhattisgarh in Raipur to commemorate Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee’s birth anniversary.

Reflecting on Dr. Mukherjee’s contributions, Chief Minister Shri Sai noted his long-standing opposition to Article 370, which once applied in Jammu and Kashmir. “Article 370 created provisions for two separate flags, constitutions, and heads in Jammu and Kashmir, preventing many central provisions from being applicable there. Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee opposed Article 370 from the beginning,” he said. Chief Minister Shri Sai credited Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for abolishing Article 370, fulfilling Dr. Mukherjee’s dream.

He recounted how Dr. Mukherjee had founded the Jan Sangh and, during his time, a permit was required to enter Jammu and Kashmir. “Dr. Mukherjee violated the permit requirements, entered Jammu and Kashmir, and was subsequently imprisoned, where he died,” Chief Minister Shri Sai recounted, underscoring the significant sacrifices made by Dr. Mukherjee.

Addressing the event, Chief Minister Shri Sai praised Sankalp Foundation for its decade-long tradition of organizing the Bharat Mata ki Aarti and patriotic song presentations. “This initiative, which began in Kawardha, is now an annual event on 6 July in Raipur. I extend my congratulations to Sankalp Foundation for their dedication,” he said.

Revenue Minister Shri Tank Ram Verma also spoke at the program. The event saw the presence of MLA Shri Motilal Sahu, MLA Shri Purandar Mishra, MLA Guru Khuswant Saheb, Shri Sanjay Srivastava, Shri Jayanti Patel, officials of Sankalp Foundation, and members of the public.
