TFP Bureau, Korba; August 16, 2024: Bharat Aluminium Company Limited (BALCO), a leading player in India’s aluminium industry and part of Vedanta Aluminium, marked the 78th Independence Day with a series of grand celebrations at its plant premises. The event highlighted BALCO’s dedication to the nation’s development under the vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India).
The festivities began with the hoisting of the national flag by Mr. Rajesh Kumar, CEO & Director of BALCO, followed by the singing of the national anthem. In his address, Mr. Kumar reflected on BALCO’s significant contributions to India’s progress and reaffirmed the company’s commitment to furthering the nation’s growth.
“As we celebrate the 78th Independence Day, BALCO continues to play a pivotal role in shaping the nation’s future. Our journey of over five decades has been marked by milestones that reflect our commitment to operational excellence and sustainable growth,” Mr. Kumar stated.
He emphasized BALCO’s ambitious growth trajectory towards achieving a production capacity of 1 MTPA (Million Tonnes Per Annum) of aluminium. “This journey is not just about scaling our capabilities but also about contributing to a ‘Viksit Bharat’. Through operational excellence, innovation, community development, and environmental stewardship, we are reinforcing India’s position as a global leader in manufacturing. Together, we are building a self-reliant, prosperous nation for future generations,” he added.
The event also featured a special Independence Day video that showcased BALCO’s alignment with the ‘Viksit Bharat’ theme. The video highlighted how the company’s business practices and socio-economic contributions are integral to nation-building. Continuing the tradition of community engagement, Mr. Kumar visited BALCO Hospital, where he distributed fresh fruit baskets to patients and personally checked on their well-being.
In support of the Government of India’s ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, which encourages citizens to proudly hoist the national flag at their homes, BALCO employees actively participated, demonstrating their patriotic spirit and dedication to the nation.
BALCO’s Independence Day celebration underscored the company’s unwavering commitment to democracy, national development, and its pivotal role in India’s journey towards becoming a ‘Viksit Bharat.’
