Union Home Minister Amit Shah Arrives in Raipur for Three-Day Chhattisgarh Visit

Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai Extends Warm Welcome; Key Meetings on Security and Development Scheduled

TFP Bureau, Raipur, August 23, 2024: Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Raipur tonight for a three-day visit to Chhattisgarh. He was warmly received by Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai at Swami Vivekananda Airport. Joining the welcome delegation were Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao, Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development Tokhan Sahu, members of the Chhattisgarh Council of Ministers, Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain, Director General of Police Ashok Juneja, and other senior officials.

During his visit, Shah’s itinerary includes several key engagements focusing on regional security and development on 24 August 2024.

His day began with a visit to the Mahaprabhu Vallabhacharya Ashram in Raipur at 10:30 AM, a significant spiritual center in the region.

At 11:30 AM, Shah held an inter-state coordination meeting with Chief Secretaries and Directors General of Police from Chhattisgarh and neighboring states at Hotel Mayfair. This meeting aimed to strengthen coordination among states in addressing regional security challenges.

Later, at 2:30 PM, the Union Home Minister presided over a crucial meeting on security and development in Left Wing Extremism-affected areas of Chhattisgarh, also at Hotel Mayfair. The discussions focused on the ongoing efforts to combat extremism and promote development in these regions.

The day’s events will conclude with a press conference at 5:30 PM, where Shah is expected to brief the media on the outcomes of the day’s discussions and the government’s plans for the state.
