TFP Bureau, Raipur; August 27, 2024: In a solemn ceremony held at Raj Bhavan today, Governor Mr. Ramen Deka administered the oath of office to Justice (Retd.) Inder Singh Uboveja, appointing him as the Chief Lokayukta of Chhattisgarh. Justice Uboveja took his oath in the name of God, marking the beginning of his tenure as the head of the state’s anti-corruption watchdog.
The oath-taking process was conducted by Additional Chief Secretary Mrs. Renu Pillai. Following the formalities, Governor Deka, along with Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Dev Sai, extended their congratulations to Justice Uboveja, presenting him with a flower bouquet as a gesture of goodwill.
The event was attended by a distinguished gathering, including Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Dev Sai, Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh, MP Mr. Brijmohan Agarwal, former MP Mr. Sunil Soni, and other prominent public representatives. Also present were former Chief Lokayukta Mr. T.P. Sharma, State Information Commissioner Mr. N.K. Shukla, former Information Commissioner Mr. Manoj Pawar, Director General of Police Mr. Ashok Juneja, and several senior administrative and police officers.
The ceremony also saw the presence of key officials from the state government, including Secretary to Governor Mr. Yashwant Kumar, Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. P. Dayanand, Legal Advisor to Governor Mr. Bhishma Prasad Pandey, and Joint Secretary Mrs. Hina Animesh Netam, alongside the family members of Justice Uboveja.
Justice Uboveja’s appointment as Chief Lokayukta is expected to further strengthen the state’s efforts in ensuring transparency and accountability in governance.
