TFP Bureau; Raipur; October 7, 2024: A pivotal meeting addressing anti-Naxal efforts in affected states took place today at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi, featuring Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, and other state leaders.
The session highlighted Chhattisgarh’s recent successful operation that resulted in the neutralization of 31 Naxals by state police. Union Home Minister Shah commended the strategies implemented by the Chhattisgarh government and police, noting that 194 Naxals have been eliminated since January, with 801 apprehended and 742 having surrendered. He urged remaining Naxals to abandon violence and integrate into society, emphasizing available rehabilitation schemes.
During the meeting, Chief Minister Sai detailed the operation, which involved around 1,000 personnel encircling the Gawadi hill over a 15-kilometer area. The operation resulted in the capture of high-profile Naxal leaders, including 16 with a combined bounty of Rs 1.30 crore. Sai also stressed ongoing development initiatives in Naxal-affected regions, including improvements in education, healthcare, and women’s empowerment.
Plans for Future Security and Development
Chief Minister Sai outlined future strategies aimed at dismantling remaining Naxal strongholds, announcing plans for 29 new security camps in South Bastar to further weaken Naxal influence.
In his closing remarks, Union Home Minister Shah encouraged other states to adopt Chhattisgarh’s model of intelligence and inter-agency cooperation, reaffirming the Central Government’s commitment to supporting both Chhattisgarh and other affected regions in their development efforts.
