Event to Explore Butterfly Diversity in Barnawapara Sanctuary from October 21 to 23

Raipur, October 14, 2024—The Chhattisgarh Forest Department has announced the third edition of the ‘Barnawapara Butterfly Meet-2024,’ which will take place from October 21 to 23 at the Barnawapara Wildlife Sanctuary. The event aims to study the diversity of butterfly species in different habitats within the sanctuary, with the goal of identifying key hotspots for future scientific research.

Located in the Balodabazar district and covering 244.66 square kilometers, the Barnawapara Wildlife Sanctuary is one of Chhattisgarh’s most important ecological zones. Nature enthusiasts and researchers interested in attending the meet can apply by October 18, 2024. Information about the event is available via a QR code provided by the Forest Department. Participants must be between the ages of 18 and 60 and should be capable of walking 10 to 15 kilometers daily. Basic knowledge of butterfly species is also recommended.

The event will offer a unique opportunity for participants to contribute to the study of butterfly populations, with all attendees required to follow the Forest Department’s guidelines. The selection of participants will be handled by the ‘Barnawapara Butterfly Meet-2024’ team, whose decision will be final.
