TFP Bureau, Raipur, October 14, 2024: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai attended the Karma Mahotsava, organized by the Oraon community in Lailuga on October 14, where he underscored the importance of following the path set by ancestors. Speaking at the event, Sai emphasized the role of the Karma Festival in preserving cultural heritage for future generations, particularly in rural and forest areas. Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal was also present at the occasion.
During the celebration, Chief Minister Sai announced a series of development projects for Lailuga, including Rs. 49 lakh for the construction of a community building, Rs. 40 lakh for the renovation of a local stadium, and Rs. 20 lakh for a new basketball court. Additionally, he revealed that the state government would resume the water supply project from Khamhar Pakut Dam to Lailuga. Sai praised the Oraon community’s rich cultural legacy and congratulated them for organizing the festival at the birthplace of Gahira Guru.
Government’s Commitment to Development and Tribal Upliftment
The Chief Minister reiterated his administration’s commitment to fulfilling Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s promises. He highlighted that under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, 18 lakh houses have been approved for Chhattisgarh, with 8.46 lakh already sanctioned by the Central Government. Sai also spoke about his government’s achievements, including a paddy support price of Rs. 3,100 per quintal, the clearing of pending paddy bonuses for farmers, and increased remuneration for tendupatta collectors.
Further, Chief Minister Sai noted the government’s ongoing efforts to uplift tribal communities in line with Prime Minister Modi’s vision. He shared details of the ‘Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan,’ a nationwide initiative launched on October 2 that allocates Rs. 80,000 crore for the development of tribal communities, with villages in Chhattisgarh among the beneficiaries.
The event was attended by prominent leaders, including Raigarh MP Radheshyam Rathiya, Rajya Sabha MP Devendra Pratap Singh, Baikunthpur MLA Bhaiya Lal Rajwada, Lailunga MLA Vidyawati Sidar, and several Oraon community members, along with a large number of villagers.
