TFP Bureau, Raipur, October 18, 2024: Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Laxmi Rajwade officially inaugurated the Swadeshi Mela at PG College Ground in Kawardha, encouraging the public to support locally made products to strengthen the nation’s economy.
In her address, Smt. Rajwade emphasized the importance of buying Indian-made goods to foster self-reliance and national pride. “The Swadeshi Mela boosts our economy by promoting ‘Made in India’ products. Under Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s ‘Make in India’ and Digital India initiatives, and with Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai’s support for Swadeshi products in Chhattisgarh, we are making strides toward economic self-reliance,” she said. She encouraged citizens to prioritize local goods, even when shopping online, to help the nation grow and rise further in global economic rankings.
The Swadeshi Mela, being held for the first time in Kawardha, began on October 17 and features over 150 stalls showcasing handicrafts, handlooms, and cultural items from states like Lucknow, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Punjab, and Kashmir. Daily cultural programs are also planned to highlight the local heritage. The event aims to raise awareness of indigenous products and encourage the community to support local artisans.
