TFP Bureau, Raipur, October 25, 2024: A diverse slate of 46 candidates has submitted nomination papers for the upcoming Raipur Nagar (South) by-election, marking a competitive electoral contest. On Friday, October 25, representatives from a variety of political parties and independent candidates filed their nominations in hopes of securing the constituency seat.
Among those filing nominations were Vikram Advani of the Bharatiya Sarvajan Hitaya Samaj Party, Manish Kumar Thakur of the Hamar Raj Party, and Gopichand Sahu of the Johar Chhattisgarh Party. Major party candidates include Sunil Kumar Soni from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Krishna Chinchkhede from the Bahujan Mukti Party. Farid Mohammad Qureshi of the Gondwana Republic Party and Brijnarayan Sahu of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) also entered the race.
In addition, a range of independent candidates, including Ashish Pandey, Neeraj Dubey, Mohd. Shan Ahmed, Abdul Azim, and others, have submitted nominations, adding to the competitive field.
The scrutiny of nomination papers is scheduled for October 28, followed by a deadline for withdrawal on October 30. The by-election is anticipated to attract significant public interest as candidates from various backgrounds and political affiliations vie for the Raipur Nagar (South) seat.
