TFP Bureau, Raipur, November 3, 2024: With preparations intensifying for the Raipur Nagar South Assembly By-election 2024, the Election Commission of India has scheduled the commissioning of electronic voting machines (EVMs) on November 5. This vital step will be conducted at Government Engineering College, Sejbahar, starting at 10:00 am, under the oversight of the Chief Electoral Officer of Chhattisgarh.
Candidates in the Raipur Nagar South constituency (Assembly Constituency No. 51) have been invited to attend and observe the setup and commissioning process, which includes symbol loading in all VVPAT machines and a mock poll to verify machine accuracy. Engineers from M/s Electronic Corporation of India Limited, Hyderabad, the EVM manufacturer, will oversee the process and conduct a mock poll with one vote on each machine and 1,000 votes on 5 percent of machines chosen randomly.
Chief Electoral Officer Smt. Reena Babasaheb Kangale encouraged all candidates to attend the commissioning process at the specified time and location to ensure transparency and confidence in the functionality of the EVMs, underscoring the Commission’s commitment to a fair election process.
