TFP Bureau, Raipur, November 12, 2024: Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai attended the Maa Mahananda Chitrotpala Ganga Mahanadi Mahaarati Mahotsav-2024 on Tuesday, a major religious event held along the banks of the Mahanadi River at Darhaghat, Chandrapur in Sakti district. At the gathering, he officially inaugurated the Ganga Aarti, made possible through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) contributions, with a large crowd of devotees in attendance, including many women who joined in the rituals and prayers.
Speaking on the occasion of Devuthani Ekadashi, Chief Minister Sai expressed his joy in participating and emphasized the significance of Mahanadi as “the lifeline of Chhattisgarh,” providing drinking water and symbolizing the region’s deep-rooted Rishi traditions. He reflected on Chhattisgarh’s cultural heritage as the homeland of Mother Kaushalya, mother of Lord Shri Ram, and expressed pride in the construction of the grand Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.
Highlighting initiatives to foster religious and cultural connections, he spoke about the Ram Lalla Darshan Yojana, allowing Chhattisgarh residents to visit Ayodhya, and announced plans to resume the Tirtha Yatra Yojana for senior citizens. Additionally, he noted ongoing efforts to develop corridors for the state’s five Shaktipeeths, sites of major spiritual importance.
In his address, Chief Minister Sai underscored the responsibility to protect rivers for future generations, stating, “Rivers are not merely bodies of flowing water but are vital elements of our cultural and religious heritage. This event renews our commitment to preserving these invaluable resources.”
The program also featured a speech by Sadhvi Pragya Devi and was attended by several dignitaries, including MP Janjgir Champa Smt. Kamlesh Jangde, MP Raigarh Shri Radheshyam Rathiya, Chandrapur MLA Shri Ramkumar Yadav, along with a host of local leaders and devoted attendees.
The Mahotsav concluded with a unifying call to protect Chhattisgarh’s rivers, celebrating their vital role in sustaining both the environment and the cultural legacy of the region.
