TFP Bureau, Raipur, November 25, 2024: Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai today attended the 76th National Cadet Corps (NCC) Day celebrations held at the Police Parade Ground in Raipur. The event showcased the commitment of Chhattisgarh’s youth to patriotism, discipline, and national unity.
In his address, Chief Minister Sai highlighted the important role NCC plays in shaping the character of the youth, fostering national pride, and encouraging them to pursue careers in the armed forces. “NCC awakens the spirit of patriotism and strengthens the feeling of unity across our diverse country,” he said, expressing pride in seeing Chhattisgarh’s cadets perform on the national stage. He recalled the impressive participation of Chhattisgarh NCC cadets during the Republic Day parade in New Delhi, which filled every Chhattisgarhi with pride.
The celebrations included a variety of performances by the cadets, including a march past, cultural programs, horse riding, aero modeling, and section attack demonstrations. Chief Minister Sai rewarded the cadets for their outstanding performances and released a special book commemorating the 76th NCC Day.
The Chief Minister also praised the growing involvement of girls in the NCC, noting that many of the state’s female cadets have brought recognition to Chhattisgarh at both national and international levels. He emphasized the significance of NCC’s motto, “Unity and Discipline,” and its role in encouraging youth to join security forces like the army.
To further support the youth in building careers in defense, the Chief Minister mentioned that the state government had made provisions for Agniveers in its new industrial policy. He also acknowledged the increasing participation of youth in national achievements, which he attributed to the country’s energetic young population. “India is the youngest nation in the world, and our youth play a pivotal role in its growth,” he said.
Regarding the future, Chief Minister Sai proposed expanding air flying training for NCC cadets at various airstrips in Bilaspur, Ambikapur, Jagdalpur, and Jashpur, in addition to Raipur. He expressed confidence that this initiative would benefit cadets from these regions.
Major General Vikant M. Dhumne, during the event, shared that 900 NCC cadets from Chhattisgarh have been selected for the Agniveer program, a testament to the high-quality training they receive.
The event was attended by various dignitaries, including School Education Secretary Shri Siddharth Komal Pardesi, Brigadier Y.S. Chauhan, and other military officials, along with NCC cadets from schools and colleges across the state.
