HNLU to Mark 75 Years of Constitution with Launch of CG-LEARN Initiative

A Visionary Step Towards Transforming Legal Education in Chhattisgarh

TFP Bureau, Raipur, November 26, 2024: Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU) is set to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Indian Constitution with the launch of CG-LEARN (Chhattisgarh Legal Education and Research Network) on November 26, 2024. The event will take place from 4 PM to 6:30 PM at the HNLU campus in Nava Raipur as part of the Constitution@75 series.

Shri Arun Sao, Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Law and Legislative Affairs of Chhattisgarh, will inaugurate the CG-LEARN platform. The launch will also feature distinguished jurists, Prof. (Dr.) N.L. Mitra (former Vice Chancellor of NLSIU Bengaluru and NLU Jodhpur) and Prof. (Dr.) Ranbir Singh (former Vice Chancellor of NALSAR and NLU Delhi), who will chair thematic sessions along with Prof. (Dr.) V.C. Vivekanandan, Vice Chancellor of HNLU and President of the Consortium of National Law Universities.

The *CG-LEARN* initiative aims to transform legal education in Chhattisgarh by fostering a collaborative network among law schools and legal departments in both public and private universities. This consortium will also bridge connections with institutions in fields like technology, science, arts, and management, positioning Chhattisgarh as a rising hub for interdisciplinary knowledge and legal research.

Prof. (Dr.) Vivekanandan emphasized the significance of the initiative, stating, “National Law Universities were envisioned not only to set benchmarks for legal education but to share best practices with other law institutes across the country. The launch of *CG-LEARN* is a modest beginning, and we hope it will inspire other NLUs to adopt similar initiatives. We look forward to the support of the Chhattisgarh State Government and Law Ministry in making this a success.”

Over 100 faculty members, including Deans, Directors, and Heads of Departments from law and social science faculties across Chhattisgarh, will participate in the event. The university has extended an invitation to academicians from law and social sciences to attend this historic occasion. Interested participants can register via the provided online link.

The event is being coordinated by Ms. Garima Panwar and Mr. Abhinav Shukla, faculty members at HNLU, under the guidance of Dr. Deepak Srivastav, Director of the School of Law & Governance at HNLU.
