TFP Bureau, Raipur, December 1, 2024: In a move aimed at fostering economic independence among women, Finance Minister Shri OP Choudhary today launched the ‘Mahatari Shakti Loan Scheme’ from his residence office. The scheme, introduced in collaboration with the State Rural Bank, seeks to empower mothers and sisters across rural Chhattisgarh by providing financial support for self-employment.
Speaking at the launch, Finance Minister Choudhary highlighted the transformative potential of the initiative. “This scheme is an important step towards economically empowering mothers and sisters,” he said, expressing confidence in its ability to strengthen rural households.
State Rural Bank Chairman Shri Vinod Arora explained that women with accounts in the bank, particularly those receiving benefits under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, would be eligible for loans of up to Rs 25,000 without the need for extensive formalities.
The Mahatari Shakti Loan Scheme is designed to help rural women become self-reliant by facilitating easy access to funds for starting small businesses or other self-employment ventures. Beyond individual benefits, the initiative is expected to create a ripple effect, strengthening families and communities across the state.
With this program, the government aims to provide not only financial aid but also a pathway for women to contribute meaningfully to their households and society, marking another step forward in Chhattisgarh’s journey toward inclusive economic development.
