TFP Bureau, Raipur, December 3, 2024: State Election Commissioner Shri Ajay Singh reviewed preparations for the upcoming municipal and three-tier panchayat general/by-elections at a meeting held at the State Election Commission office in Atal Nagar Nava Raipur. The meeting was attended by divisional commissioners, police inspectors general, collectors, superintendents of police, and deputy district election officers.
Shri Singh instructed officials to ensure that all training programs for election personnel are completed before the publication of the voter list and emphasized the importance of error-free electoral rolls. He urged district election officers to personally verify voter lists to avoid discrepancies.
In the discussion, he highlighted the need for smooth and peaceful elections, stressing enhanced voter awareness, transparency, and fairness in the process. Officials were also tasked with strengthening security measures, ensuring law and order, and maintaining seamless coordination across departments.
The preparations reviewed included security arrangements, the status of polling stations, and the availability of election materials. District collectors and police superintendents provided updates on their readiness through presentations.
Shri Singh also reviewed polling station facilities and staff deployment, emphasizing the importance of providing timely information to political party representatives and addressing potential challenges during elections.
Earlier reviews were conducted for Bilaspur and Surguja divisions on November 26 and Durg division on November 29. A similar review meeting for Bastar division is scheduled for December 4.
The meeting saw the participation of Raipur Divisional Commissioner Shri Mahadev Kavre, Nodal Officer of the Police Department Shri OP Pal, Raipur IG Shri Amresh Mishra, State Election Commission Secretary Dr. Sarveshvar Narendra Bhure, and Raipur Collector Shri Gaurav Kumar Singh, along with other senior officials.
