TFP Bureau, Raipur, December 7, 2024: On the occasion of Armed Forces Flag Day, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai paid heartfelt tribute to the martyrs and soldiers who have dedicated their lives to the nation. He emphasized that the freedom and safety enjoyed by citizens today are owed to the valor and sacrifices of the country’s brave soldiers.
“This day provides an opportunity to express our gratitude to the courageous soldiers and their families, who have made immense sacrifices for the security and integrity of our nation,” said Chief Minister Sai. He urged the people of Chhattisgarh to contribute generously to the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund, which supports welfare schemes for soldiers, ex-servicemen, and the families of martyrs.
The Chief Minister reiterated the importance of fulfilling societal responsibilities towards the armed forces and their families. “The funds collected on this day are utilized for the welfare of soldiers and their loved ones. I encourage everyone to participate enthusiastically and contribute to this noble cause,” he added.
Flag Day Observance and Fund Contribution
To mark the occasion, Brigadier Shri Vivek Sharma, Director of Sainik Welfare, Chhattisgarh, met the Chief Minister at his residence office. He presented a lapel pin to Shri Sai as a symbol of Armed Forces Flag Day. The Chief Minister made a personal contribution to the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund, reaffirming his commitment to the welfare of ex-servicemen and martyr families. Secretary to the Chief Minister, Shri Rahul Bhagat, was also present during the event.
Welfare Initiatives Supported by the Fund
Brigadier Sharma highlighted that the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund supports 27 welfare schemes benefiting soldiers, veterans, and their families. This year, Rs 1.05 crore has been distributed under various initiatives for the welfare of soldiers and martyrs’ families.
The Chief Minister lauded the armed forces for their dedication, not only in safeguarding the nation’s borders but also in providing assistance during natural disasters, internal crises, and humanitarian emergencies. “The valor and unwavering dedication of our soldiers have ensured the safety and strength of our nation,” he concluded.
