Chief Minister to Launch Rs 495 Crore Development Projects in Surguja District

Pilot project of Mukhyamantri Anna Kosh Yojana aimed at improving maternal health

TFP Bureau, Raipur, December 8, 2024: Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai is set to inaugurate development works worth Rs 495 crore in Surguja district on 9 December 2024. The event will be held at PG College Ground, Ambikapur, where 145 development projects valued at Rs 154 crore 47 lakh will be inaugurated, along with the Bhoomi Pujan of 1047 projects costing Rs 340 crore 76 lakh.

The event will be attended by several distinguished guests, including Finance and In-charge Minister of Surguja Shri O.P. Chaudhary, Agriculture Minister Shri Ram Vichar Netam, Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Laxmi Rajwade, MP Shri Chintamani Maharaj, and MLAs Shri Rajesh Aggarwal, Prabodh Minj, and Ramkumar Toppo. Chairman of the State Youth Commission Shri Vishwa Vijay Singh Tomar will also be present.

Launch of Mukhyamantri Anna Kosh Yojana

Among the highlights of the program will be the launch of the Mukhyamantri Anna Kosh Yojana, a pilot project in Surguja district aimed at improving the health of pregnant and lactating women, particularly from the Pahari Korwa tribal community. This initiative is designed to provide additional nutritional food to reduce maternal and infant mortality rates.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai will also inaugurate several key infrastructure projects, including 10 roads constructed at a cost of Rs 132 crore 83 lakh, a tap water supply scheme for five villages under the Jal Jeevan Mission at Rs 3 crore 59 lakh, and a Sarva Samaj Manglik Bhawan in Ambikapur worth Rs 3 crore 52 lakh.

Major Infrastructure Projects and Welfare Initiatives

During the event, Chief Minister Sai will also lay the foundation for significant projects, including the construction of three sewage treatment plants with a capacity of 46 MLD at a cost of Rs 123 crore 28 lakh in Ambikapur. Additionally, 15 roads will be built under the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana at Rs 55 crore 45 lakh, and various water and sanitation projects will be initiated in 16 gram panchayats at a cost of Rs 55 crore 5 lakh.

The Chief Minister will also launch the construction of 243 Anganwadi buildings, with an investment of Rs 28 crore 40 lakh, and road infrastructure projects worth Rs 5 crore 92 lakh in urban areas.

Surguja-30 Residential Coaching Initiative

In a further step to enhance educational opportunities, Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai has also initiated the Surguja-30 residential coaching program, which offers free coaching to meritorious students from classes 10th and 12th. Additionally, weekly free coaching sessions for NEET and JEE aspirants are conducted every weekend.

The district administration is also broadcasting the proceedings of the Collector’s Court and public sessions online via the official Surguja YouTube channel, ensuring greater transparency and accessibility for the residents.
