Chief Minister Inaugurates 100-Bed District Hospital in Chirmiri; Announces Key Developments for Local Healthcare and Infrastructure

State Government Prioritizes Access to Quality Healthcare in Remote Chhattisgarh Areas

TFP Bureau, Raipur, December 9, 2024: In a significant move to improve healthcare accessibility in Chhattisgarh, Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai today inaugurated a state-of-the-art 100-bed district hospital in Chirmiri, located in the Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur district. The hospital, equipped with modern medical infrastructure, aims to provide quality healthcare services to the people of the region. During the event, the Chief Minister also made several announcements, including the approval for a 100-bed hospital at the Community Health Center in Janakpur, the establishment of a Sub-Divisional Officer of Police (SDOP) post in Bharatpur, and the introduction of power supply from the grid to areas including Chirmiri, Khongapani, and Jhagrakhand.

The event was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Saw, Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, Surguja MP Shri Chintamani Maharaj, MLA Smt. Renuka Singh, and other public representatives.

The newly inaugurated district hospital in Chirmiri boasts advanced facilities, including eight appointed medical specialists, an array of 80 lab tests, and four operational theaters, with one currently in use. Additionally, the hospital has an eight-bed ICU to cater to critical cases. The hospital’s infrastructure aims to ensure high-quality healthcare for local residents, eliminating the need to travel far for treatment.

Speaking at the inauguration, Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai emphasized the state government’s commitment to enhancing healthcare infrastructure, particularly in remote areas. He reassured the public that the government’s priority is to expand healthcare services across the state so that citizens can access good medical treatment with ease. The Chief Minister also toured the hospital, interacting with patients and wishing them a speedy recovery, while encouraging the healthcare team to work with a spirit of service.

Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal expressed his satisfaction with the inauguration, calling the new hospital a “big gift” for the district. He highlighted the importance of accessible, quality healthcare and assured that the Chirmiri district hospital would significantly improve the region’s medical services.

In addition to the healthcare developments, Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai announced that the Chhattisgarh Energy Department would begin supplying electricity from the grid to the areas of Chirmiri, Khongapani, and Jhagrakhand. He also revealed plans to establish a 100-bed hospital at the Janakpur Community Health Center and approved the creation of a Sub-Divisional Officer of Police (SDOP) post in Bharatpur to enhance local administration.

These steps are part of the ongoing efforts by the Chhattisgarh government to improve the quality of life for residents in the state’s remote and underserved areas.
