TFP Bureau, Ambikapur, December 10, 2024: In a series of significant announcements aimed at improving the lives of residents in Surguja district, Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai inaugurated a range of development projects and launched new schemes to enhance healthcare, infrastructure, and welfare for the region’s marginalized communities on Monday.
During a program at PG College Ground in Ambikapur, the Chief Minister inaugurated and performed Bhoomi Pujan for 1614 development works totaling Rs 536 crore. He also announced a grant of Rs 23.90 crore for infrastructure development within Ambikapur city. These projects are expected to accelerate the region’s growth, improving vital infrastructure and public services.
In a special address, Chief Minister Shri Sai launched the Chief Minister’s Anna Kosh Scheme, a pilot project aimed at providing additional nutritional food to pregnant and lactating mothers from the Pahari Korwa community, a special backward tribe in Surguja. This initiative is expected to significantly reduce maternal and infant mortality rates within the community. The Chief Minister also unveiled a career directory prepared by the District Administration, furthering opportunities for local youth.
Promoting Education and Welfare in Surguja
At the event, Shri Vishnudev Sai highlighted the government’s commitment to comprehensive development. He emphasized ongoing efforts such as the construction of houses for underprivileged families, enhanced support for farmers, and the distribution of allowances to over 70 lakh women through the Mahtari Vandan Yojana. Additionally, the Chief Minister praised Ambikapur for its cleanliness and beauty, attributing the city’s success to the combined efforts of municipal workers, Safai Mitras, and the local citizens.
The Chief Minister also reiterated the state government’s ongoing initiatives to benefit farmers, including a guaranteed paddy procurement price of Rs 3100 per quintal, as well as providing new opportunities for spiritual and cultural enrichment through programs like the Shri Ram Lalla Darshan Yatra.
Community Support and Social Initiatives
In a related event, Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai attended the divisional-level conference of the Chhattisgarh Kolta Samaj at Mata Rajmohini Devi Auditorium in Ambikapur. During the conference, he announced a grant of Rs 50 lakh for the construction of a community building in Ajirama village, which will support the local Kolta Samaj community. Shri Sai emphasized the importance of education and family welfare, urging the community to focus on children’s education and to address issues like drug addiction, which hinder social progress.
The event was attended by key public figures, including Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Saw, Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Laxmi Rajwade, and Surguja MP Shri Chintamani Maharaj, among others.
