“Establishing Trust Among the Public Is Our Biggest Achievement”: CM Vishnu Dev Sai

TFP Bureau, Raipur, December 12, 2024: Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai marked the completion of his government’s first year in office by reflecting on key achievements, emphasizing public trust as the cornerstone of progress. Addressing a press conference at the New Circuit House in Raipur, CM Sai highlighted the fulfillment of major promises under “Modi’s Guarantee” and outlined his vision for a developed Chhattisgarh and India.

“Our biggest challenge was to re-establish trust among the people. After one year, I am satisfied to say that we have achieved this by honoring the promises made to farmers, women, and the underprivileged,” said CM Sai.

Vision for a Developed Chhattisgarh

The Chief Minister announced a target to increase Chhattisgarh’s GDP to ₹10 lakh crore by 2028, with a focus on good governance, economic growth, and transparency. “The foundation of trust we’ve built will help us achieve the peak of development,” he added. The state will celebrate its silver jubilee on November 1, 2025, marking 25 years of its establishment.

Fulfilling Promises to Farmers, Women, and the Poor

Key achievements highlighted by the Chief Minister included record paddy procurement at ₹3,100 per quintal, distribution of pending paddy bonuses worth ₹3,716 crore, and the launch of the Mahtari Vandan Yojana benefiting 70 lakh women. The state has also approved 18 lakh Pradhan Mantri Awas for the underprivileged and increased tendu leaf collection rates from ₹4,000 to ₹5,500 per sack.

Restoring Trust in Youth

The government has implemented the New Education Policy, making education employment-oriented and enhancing opportunities through hi-tech libraries and transparent CGPSC examinations. Free ration for 68 lakh families was introduced, fulfilling promises to support the underprivileged.

Good Governance and Technology

CM Sai emphasized his government’s commitment to good governance by creating a dedicated department for Governance and Convergence, ensuring citizen services are accessible through technology. “We are realizing the dream of Ram Rajya as envisioned by Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee,” he stated.

Development in Tribal and Naxal-Affected Areas

Infrastructure in tribal areas has expanded with new road, rail, and air services. Tribal welfare programs include the Akhara Nirman Vikas Yojana and a ₹5,000 annual Samman Nidhi for Baiga, Gunia, and Sirha communities. The government also accelerated Naxal eradication, with 213 Naxalites neutralized in the past year and 1,750 surrenders or arrests.

Tourism and Cultural Heritage

Tourism development has been a priority, with Bastar’s Dhudmaras village being recognized by the United Nations as one of the world’s top 20 villages for sustainable tourism. The Guru Ghasidas-Tamor Pingla Tiger Reserve and the natural Shivalinga at Madheshwar mountain further enhance the state’s appeal.

Double Engine Growth

CM Sai credited the “double engine government” for the state’s accelerated development, citing Central support for road projects worth ₹31,000 crore and rail network expansions. Construction of four medical colleges in Janjgir-Champa, Kabirdham, Manendragarh, and Geedam is underway, with a ₹1,020 crore allocation.

Public Approval

Highlighting the recent by-election results as a testament to public approval, CM Sai concluded, “The trust placed in us by the people motivates us to work tirelessly toward a developed Chhattisgarh and a stronger India.”
