TFP Bureau, Raipur, December 13, 2024: The National Lok Adalat, organized under the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), will take place on Saturday, 14 December 2024, with the aim of settling various types of legal cases through mutual reconciliation or compromise. This initiative, which will be held across all district and civil courts in Chhattisgarh by the State Legal Services Authority (SALSA), marks the fourth Lok Adalat of 2024.

The Lok Adalat will focus on resolving a wide range of cases, including those related to compoundable offences, motor accident claims, cheque bounce issues under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, and matrimonial disputes. Cases related to property tax, water tax, revenue disputes, traffic challans, and pre-litigation matters such as disputes between bank account holders, heirs, and property partitions will also be addressed.

In addition, benches will be constituted for specific types of cases such as civil, family, and recovery-related matters involving banks, electricity, telecom departments, and municipal corporations. The National Lok Adalat aims to ease the burden of pending cases in courts by providing faster and easier access to justice through the process of mutual compromise between the parties involved.

Through this initiative, many legal disputes that have been languishing in courts can be resolved efficiently, helping to reduce the backlog of cases and expedite justice for the affected parties.
