TFP Bureau, Raipur, December 15, 2024: Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Shri Amit Shah, presented the prestigious ‘President’s Colour’ to the Chhattisgarh Police in Raipur on the first day of his visit to the state. This distinguished honor, awarded to armed forces that demonstrate exceptional service and dedication, was presented during a ceremony attended by Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma, and other dignitaries.
In his address, Shri Shah praised the Chhattisgarh Police for earning the ‘President’s Colour’ just 25 years after its formation, highlighting the force’s exceptional commitment, courage, and unwavering service to the state. He described this recognition as a testament to the police’s hard work, bravery, and its crucial role in ensuring public safety and fighting Naxalism.
Naxalism-Free Vision by 2026
Shri Shah reaffirmed the government’s commitment to eradicating Naxalism from Chhattisgarh by March 31, 2026, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He noted significant progress in the fight against Naxalites over the past year, including the neutralization of 287 Naxals, the arrest of 1,000, and the surrender of 837 others. He credited these achievements to the determined efforts of the Chhattisgarh Police and other security forces, stating that, for the first time in four decades, the number of deaths from Naxal violence had fallen below 100.
Shri Shah emphasized that these achievements were possible due to the strict policies of the Modi government, which have dramatically reduced casualties and effectively curbed Naxalism in the region. The Home Minister also commended the Chhattisgarh Police for their role in tackling organized crime and narcotics, citing the seizure of thousands of kilograms of illicit drugs in recent months.
A Tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel
Shri Amit Shah also took the opportunity to pay tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on his death anniversary. He acknowledged Patel’s indomitable spirit in uniting the nation and noted that Prime Minister Modi had completed Patel’s unfinished mission by abrogating Article 370, integrating Kashmir permanently into India.
Encouraging Naxals to Rejoin Society
Addressing the Naxalites, Shri Shah urged them to abandon violence and rejoin the mainstream, emphasizing the government’s efforts to rehabilitate those who surrender. He commended the Chhattisgarh Police for their continued success in tackling Naxalism and organized crime, and for advancing the state’s development goals.
In his closing remarks, Shri Shah highlighted that Chhattisgarh’s contribution to India’s growth would be etched in golden letters, with the state playing a crucial role in Prime Minister Modi’s vision of a developed India by 2047. He urged every officer of the Chhattisgarh Police to uphold the honor of the ‘President’s Colour’ as a symbol of their service, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication to the nation.
