Union Home Minister Amit Shah Pays Tribute to Martyrs in Chhattisgarh, Vows End to Naxal Violence by 2026

“Not a drop of blood will be shed in the name of Naxalism after March 31, 2026,” declares Home Minister during his visit to Jagdalpur

TFP Bureau, Raipur, December 16 2024: Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah visited Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh, to honor the martyrs who laid down their lives in the fight against Naxalism. At the Shaheed Smarak, a memorial dedicated to 1,399 fallen heroes, Shri Shah paid his respects and met with the families of soldiers and civilians who were victims of Naxal violence. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and other dignitaries were present at the solemn event.

Addressing the gathering, Amit Shah hailed the Chhattisgarh government’s decisive efforts to combat Naxalism, highlighting a comprehensive three-pronged approach: welcoming surrendering militants back into society, apprehending those who persist in violence, and ensuring strict justice against those determined to harm others.

“Over the past year, significant progress has been made,” Shah stated, revealing that 287 Naxalites were neutralized, nearly 1,000 arrested, and 837 surrendered in the state. He further lauded the government’s unprecedented achievement in reducing Naxal-affected areas within a single year, calling it a pivotal step toward lasting peace.

Shri Shah assured citizens that by March 31, 2026, Naxalism would be completely eradicated from the region. “Not a single drop of blood will be shed in the name of Naxalism on the sacred land of Maa Danteshwari,” he declared, emphasizing the government’s unwavering resolve.

The Home Minister also commended the Chhattisgarh government for its phased development plan targeting villages and communities affected by Naxalism. He announced that the Modi government has approved the construction of 15,000 houses in these areas and is working to achieve 100% saturation of welfare schemes to uplift vulnerable communities. Families impacted by Naxal violence have been prioritized under this initiative, he added.

Highlighting the broader strategy for a Naxal-free India, Shah noted the strong support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, whose leadership has ensured the coordinated efforts of the Home, Tribal Affairs, and Rural Development Ministries to rehabilitate and support affected families.

Shah expressed confidence that the Amar Shaheed Smarak in Jagdalpur would serve as an enduring symbol of sacrifice and inspire future generations to dedicate their lives to the welfare of others. The Home Minister concluded by reaffirming the government’s commitment to creating a peaceful and prosperous Chhattisgarh, free from the shadow of Naxal violence.
