Chief Minister Ensures Best Medical Care for Padma Vibhushan Teejan Bai

Health Minister Jaiswal visits Guniyari, provides ₹5 lakh financial assistance

TFP Bureau, Raipur, December 18, 2024: Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai has directed that no effort be spared in the treatment of Padma Vibhushan awardee and renowned Pandwani folk singer, Mrs. Teejan Bai. Acting on these instructions, State Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal visited her residence in Guniyari, Durg district, today to personally inquire about her health and offer support.

During the visit, Minister Jaiswal presented financial assistance of ₹5 lakh to Mrs. Teejan Bai on behalf of the Chief Minister. He also assured the family that the state government would continue to provide the best medical care and would consider the family’s request for a job opportunity. A team of doctors has been deployed to oversee her treatment, with regular medical bulletins being issued.

“As per the Chief Minister’s instructions, we will ensure there is no shortage in her treatment. The government is committed to providing all necessary support to Padma Vibhushan Mrs. Teejan Bai,” Minister Jaiswal stated.

As a mark of respect, the minister also honored Mrs. Teejan Bai with a shawl and quince. The visit was accompanied by MLAs Mr. Doman Lal Korswada, Mr. Lalit Chandrakar, and Mr. Gajendra Yadav, along with senior health officials, including the Director of Health Services, the Collector, and CMHO.

The state government’s intervention underscores the high regard for Mrs. Teejan Bai’s contributions to the cultural heritage of Chhattisgarh and India.
