Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly Marks Silver Jubilee with Release of Three New Books

Books highlighting member introductions and the first year of Dr. Raman Singh’s tenure as Speaker unveiled by key political figures

TFP Bureau, Raipur, December 19, 2024: The Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly marked its Silver Jubilee year today with the release of three significant publications. The books, which were published by the Assembly Secretariat, focus on the introductory details of the members of the Sixth Legislative Assembly, the role of the Assembly, and a look back at Dr. Raman Singh’s first year as Speaker.

The books were officially launched in the Speaker’s Chamber at the Assembly Complex by Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, and Leader of Opposition Dr. Charandas Mahant. The event also saw the presence of Parliamentary Affairs Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap, former Assembly Speakers Mr. Prem Prakash Pandey, Mr. Dharamlal Kaushik, and Mr. Gaurishankar Aggarwal, as well as MLAs and Assembly Secretary Mr. Dinesh Sharma.

The first book, titled “Member Introduction Shastham Vidhan Sabha”, provides detailed profiles of each member of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly, based on election results and information from the Election Office. It offers insight into the political backgrounds of the current assembly members, including their election results and personal achievements.

The second book, “Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly: An Introduction”, serves as an educational tool to inform the public about the role of the Assembly and the work undertaken by its members. It highlights the functioning of the Legislative Assembly and includes analytical details about the members and their contributions to the parliamentary process.

The third book marks the *”First Year of the Presidential Tenure of Dr. Raman Singh”*, reflecting on his leadership and the milestones achieved during his first year as Speaker.

On the occasion, Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh expressed his pride in the achievements of the Assembly over the past 24 years, noting that the Legislative Assembly has upheld the values of democracy and parliamentary standards. He emphasized that the Silver Jubilee celebrations, which began on December 14, 2024, were a testament to the Assembly’s commitment to the conservation and promotion of these values.

Dr. Singh also expressed confidence that the current assembly would continue to strengthen democratic principles and successfully discharge its parliamentary responsibilities in the years to come.
