TFP Bureau, Raipur, December 25, 2024: Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai released the poster for the 24th National Vanvasi Sports Competition at his residence in Raipur. Organized by the All India Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram, the competition will take place in the state capital from December 27 to 31.
Hailing the initiative, CM Sai said, “This event is a significant step toward empowering the Vanvasi (tribal) community and fostering a culture of sports. It provides an excellent platform for tribal athletes to showcase and hone their talent while promoting unity among players from diverse regions.”
The event, which will officially open on December 28 at the Science College Ground, is expected to bring together approximately 800 athletes from various Indian states, including Andaman, Manipur, Punjab, and the neighboring country Nepal. Participants will compete in traditional sports such as football and archery, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of tribal communities through their athletic skills.
Chief Minister Sai emphasized that the competition not only nurtures sporting talent but also serves a noble purpose of encouraging tribal youth to embrace sports as a means of personal and community development. “This event symbolizes unity, resilience, and the extraordinary potential of tribal youth,” he added.
The poster release ceremony was attended by Forest Minister and Chairman of the Welcome Committee Kedar Kashyap, Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, State President Umesh Kachhap, Secretary Dr. Anurag Jain, and other officials.
The National Vanvasi Sports Competition has grown into a prestigious event that celebrates the vibrant tribal culture and spirit. This year’s competition is set to highlight not only athletic excellence but also the rich traditions of the Vanvasi society, making it a unique and inspiring event on the national sports calendar.
