Raipur’s Manishi Singh Strikes Gold Twice in All India Civil Services Badminton Championship

Wins Gold in 40+ Singles and Doubles, Named Best Tournament Player

TFP Bureau, Raipur, January 10, 2025: Raipur’s international badminton player and Assistant Professor at the Board of Secondary Education, Manishi Singh, showcased an exceptional performance at the All India Civil Services Badminton Competition, clinching two gold medals in the 40+ singles and doubles categories. Her stellar performance also earned her the “Best Tournament Player (Women)” award.

Over the past four years, Manishi Singh has consistently brought glory to Chhattisgarh through her remarkable achievements in badminton. Her latest victory further cements her reputation as a dominant force in Indian badminton.

In the singles competition, Manishi defeated Prabhavati from Andaman & Nicobar (15-07, 15-08) in the pre-quarters, Kavita from Uttarakhand (21-12, 21-10) in the quarter-finals, Farooq from Maharashtra (21-15, 21-19) in the semi-finals, and Neelam Panda from RSB Ahmedabad (21-16, 21-15) in the final to secure the gold medal.

In the doubles event, Manishi partnered with Shalini Yadav to deliver a flawless performance. The duo defeated Bhuneshwari and Preetha from Chennai (21-05, 21-06) in the pre-quarterfinals, Jyoti and Kavita from Uttarakhand (21-10, 21-12) in the quarter-finals, the top-ranked pair Pratibha and Sunita from Haryana (21-15, 21-23) in the semi-finals, and Neelam and Farooq from Ahmedabad (21-12, 21-16) in the final to claim their second gold medal.
