TFP Bureau, Raipur, January 19, 2025: The Chhattisgarh government has decided to provide the difference in the paddy purchase price to farmers by February 15. This decision, which will benefit approximately 27 lakh farmers, was announced during the inauguration and foundation laying ceremony of various development projects at the Sarangarh-Bilaigarh district headquarters. Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, who presided over the event, also introduced the renamed irrigation electricity assistance scheme as the Dr. Khubchand Baghel Kisan Vidyut Sahayata Yojana.
In addition, Chief Minister Sai launched development projects worth Rs 137.41 crore for the region. This includes 84 completed works valued at Rs 47.87 crore, alongside Bhoomi Pujan for Rs 89.54 crore worth of new projects. Notably, a new District Hospital in Sarangarh, with an investment of Rs 38 crore, and a Joint District Office Building, costing Rs 18.75 crore, were among the highlights.
During the ceremony, the Chief Minister also announced several infrastructure projects, including the expansion of Sarangarh’s main road and the construction of a 50-seater hostel building in Sariya. Other initiatives included upgrading the Primary Health Centre in Kosir to a Community Health Centre and plans for a new high-level rest house in Sarangarh.
Chief Minister Sai emphasized the continued commitment to Sarangarh-Bilaigarh’s development, referencing his two-decade association with the area. “In the past year, significant progress has been made towards fulfilling the promises made to the people of Chhattisgarh,” he said. Among the notable achievements, the government has expedited the construction of homes under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, with approvals granted for the construction of 18 lakh homes.
Furthermore, the state government continues to assist landless agricultural laborers, with 5.62 lakh individuals set to benefit from the *Pandit Deendayal Bhumiheen Krishi Shramik Yojana*. Chief Minister Sai also highlighted the distribution of ownership cards to rural residents and the ongoing investigation into the PSC scam, aimed at restoring public trust in the examination system.
In another significant move, the Chief Minister mentioned the establishment of a Chhattisgarh Mandap at the Prayagraj Maha Kumbh, which will provide free food and accommodation to devotees from Chhattisgarh.
