Youth Key to Achieving Dream of a Developed India: Vice President Dhankhar

Vice President addresses students at ‘Kalpanayen: Behtar Bharat Ki’ in Raipur, highlights role of youth in nation-building and technological advancement

TFP Bureau, Raipur, January 21, 2025: Vice President Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar emphasized the critical role of youth in shaping a developed India while addressing students from NIT, IIT, and IIM at the program ‘Kalpanayen: Behtar Bharat Ki’ at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium in Raipur. He urged the students to harness cutting-edge technologies and contribute to the nation’s growth.

Speaking to a packed auditorium, the Vice President said, “India’s youth, equipped with advanced education in technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Green Hydrogen, will play a pivotal role in transforming India into a developed nation by its centenary of independence in 2047.”

Shri Dhankhar highlighted the nation’s growing focus on promoting indigenous goods and urged citizens to avoid imported items to strengthen India’s economy. “India is on the path to becoming a global leader again, and the youth will be at the forefront of this resurgence,” he remarked.

A Vision for Innovation and Sustainability
Governor Shri Ramen Deka underscored the importance of self-reliance coupled with global connectivity. He advocated for fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable practices to empower rural communities and tribal entrepreneurs. “Chhattisgarh can become a model of inclusive development by investing in cutting-edge infrastructure and promoting sustainable agriculture,” he stated.

Governor Deka stressed the need for skill development programs that integrate traditional knowledge with modern technology, laying the foundation for a resilient economy and cohesive society.

Learning from the Past, Building the Future
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai urged the youth to draw inspiration from India’s rich history and traditions. “India has been a global leader since ancient times, with universities like Takshila and Nalanda serving as beacons of knowledge,” he said. Shri Sai highlighted India’s strides in self-reliance in semiconductor and space technology while emphasizing the government’s efforts to address climate change through initiatives like Green GDP and green steel.

Infrastructure Development for Women Empowerment
On this occasion, Vice President Dhankhar laid the foundation stone for a girls’ hostel to be constructed on the NIT campus using CSR funds from SECL. The hostel aims to support the increasing participation of women in higher education.

The event witnessed the presence of notable dignitaries, including Vice President’s wife Dr. Sudesh Dhankhar, Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Vijay Sharma, Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development Mr. Tokhan Sahu, Chairman of the NIT Board of Governors Mr. Suresh Haware, CMD SECL Dr. P.S. Mishra, and directors of NIT, IIT, and IIM, alongside hundreds of students and scholars.

The program concluded with a call for collective efforts to create a better, self-reliant India, driven by the innovative spirit of its youth.
