TFP Bureau, Raipur, February 10, 2025: Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, Chhattisgarh has reached a significant milestone in its battle against Naxalism. The state’s robust policies, backed by a development-driven approach, have fostered a lasting peace and security environment, marking a historic achievement in the fight against Naxal violence.
Chief Minister Sai revealed that over the past 13 months, under the “double-engine government,” the state has eliminated 305 Naxals, arrested 1,177, and witnessed the surrender of 985 individuals. These numbers reflect the state’s strategic efficiency, commitment, and the clear progress Chhattisgarh has made toward a peaceful, development-oriented future.
A Holistic Strategy to End Naxalism
Addressing the broader context, Chief Minister Sai highlighted that the Naxal issue in Chhattisgarh is not only a security concern but also a socio-economic one. The government has adopted a comprehensive strategy combining security measures with extensive rehabilitation programs for surrendered Naxals. These initiatives offer them vocational training, employment opportunities, and financial assistance, enabling their reintegration into mainstream society and contributing to peace-building efforts.
The arrest of 1,177 Naxals is a testament to the strength of the government’s security framework. Enhanced coordination between Central and State forces, supported by advanced weaponry and modern training, has helped dismantle Naxal operations at the grassroots level. In addition, strict legal measures are being enforced to ensure the effective prosecution of arrested individuals, further strengthening law and order in the state.
Rehabilitation and Development: Key to Reintegration
Chief Minister Sai stressed that the government’s focus extends beyond encouraging Naxals to surrender – it is equally committed to ensuring their dignified reintegration into society. Special rehabilitation schemes offer vocational training and employment, while large-scale infrastructure development in Naxal-affected areas is providing the foundations for long-term stability.
The development of roads, electricity, education, healthcare, and employment opportunities is transforming the once troubled regions. These measures are instilling confidence among local communities, particularly tribal youth, encouraging them to reject violence and embrace a brighter future.
Chhattisgarh’s Transition to Peace and Prosperity
The state’s long-term vision includes further industrial investment, expanding education, healthcare services, and boosting skill development for tribal youth. With 985 surrenders and 1,177 arrests, Chhattisgarh is not only progressing towards a peaceful future but is also setting new standards for development. Chief Minister Sai affirmed that Chhattisgarh is on track to become not just Naxal-free, but a beacon of peace, prosperity, and development.
