
TFP Bureau, Raipur, February 11, 2025: The Chhattisgarh State Election Commission has released the final voter turnout figures for the Urban Local Body Elections 2025, reporting an overall turnout of 72.19% across the state. The elections saw enthusiastic participation from voters in several districts, with the highest turnout recorded in Korea (84.97%), followed closely by Gariaband (84.65%) and Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai (83.50%).
Districts with significant voter engagement included Balrampur (79.85%), Sarangarh-Bilaigarh (78.52%), and Dhamtari (76.00%), reflecting strong public interest in the local electoral process. However, urban areas like Raipur recorded a lower turnout at 52.75%, while Bilaspur stood at 51.37%, indicating relatively lower participation in major cities.
The election also witnessed participation from the third-gender community, with Mungeli and Gariaband registering 100% voting among third-gender voters, while districts like Janjgir-Champa (58.33%) and Korba (7.14%) also reported notable participation.
The State Election Commission has lauded the efforts of voters, polling officers, and security personnel for ensuring a smooth and fair election process. With the polling phase concluded, the state now awaits the election results, which will determine the leadership of various municipal bodies across Chhattisgarh.
