
TFP Bureau, Raipur, February 16, 2025: Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai today blessed 31 Divyang couples at the Divyangjan mass marriage ceremony organized by the All India Viklang Chetna Parishad. Wishing the newlyweds a joyful married life, he lauded the event as a symbol of social harmony and a step forward in uplifting the Divyangjan community.
In his address, Chief Minister Sai recalled the words of Swami Vivekananda, “Nar Seva Hi Narayan Seva,” emphasizing that serving Divyangjans is a form of service to God. He commended the All India Viklang Chetna Parishad for organizing this event successfully over the years and described it as a positive initiative that contributes to societal change.
Promoting Inclusiveness and Equality
Shri Sai described the mass marriage as a crucial step towards fostering inclusivity and equality in society. He stated that helping the Divyangjan community is not just a social responsibility but a virtuous act. This event not only marked a new beginning for the 31 couples but also served as an inspiration for society to support and be sensitive towards the disabled.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the government’s ongoing efforts to empower marginalized communities, including the Divyangjans, through various welfare schemes. He mentioned the Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivaah Yojana, which provides financial assistance of Rs 50,000 for each couple, and the Divyang Vivaah Protsahan Yojana, which grants Rs one lakh if both spouses are Divyang.
Empowering Women Through State Schemes
On the occasion, Shri Sai also emphasized the government’s commitment to women’s empowerment. Referring to the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, he explained that around 70 lakh women in the state are receiving financial assistance of Rs 1,000 per month. He also highlighted the success of the Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao scheme, which has completed a decade under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, significantly empowering the girl child.
Mass Marriages: A Tradition of Unity and Awareness
The Chief Minister praised the growing tradition of mass marriages, which he believes promotes social awareness and unity. He also acknowledged the contributions of social organizations such as the Kanyakubj Brahmin Samaj, Marwari Yuva Manch, and Senior Citizen Welfare Forum, which helped make the event a success.
Service to Humanity: The Greatest Religion
Shri Sai expressed that serving humanity is the greatest form of religion and that it is fortunate to be able to serve the disabled community. He encouraged voluntary organizations to continue hosting events that foster social harmony and extended his congratulations to the organizing committee for their efforts in making the program a grand success.
Newly Married Couples Receive Blessings
As part of the ceremony, Chief Minister Shri Sai offered his blessings to the newly married couples, wishing them happiness, love, and trust in their married lives.
Cultural Performance by Divyang Children
A special cultural performance by Divyang children from ‘Kopalvani’ stole the spotlight. The children, who are deaf and mute, performed a Chhattisgarhi dance that left the audience in awe. Chief Minister Sai and other attendees praised the children’s talent and encouraged them to continue their artistic pursuits.
Government’s Ongoing Support for Divyangjans
Shri Sai commended the All India Handicapped Awareness Council for its continuous work towards the rehabilitation, treatment, and self-reliance of Divyangjans. He assured that the state government would continue to support the empowerment and inclusion of the Divyangjan community.
Dr. Vinay Pathak, National Executive President of the All India Viklang Chetna Parishad, also blessed the newlyweds and reiterated the council’s commitment to the empowerment of Divyangjans with public support.
