TFP Bureau, Raipur, February 20, 2025:  In a major push for technological advancement, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) will support Chhattisgarh in leveraging space technology for key sectors such as agriculture, water management, environmental conservation, and disaster mitigation.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai met ISRO Chairman Dr. V. Narayanan in New Delhi, where they discussed the integration of satellite-based surveys, geo-mapping, and data analytics to enhance governance and economic development. The Chief Minister emphasized the role of space technology in driving precision farming, resource optimization, and climate resilience.

ISRO Experts to Conduct Ground-Level Study

As part of the collaboration, an ISRO expert team will visit Chhattisgarh to conduct a comprehensive study using satellite imagery and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). The study will focus on soil health assessment, water resource mapping, early warning systems for natural disasters, and smart governance strategies.

Boosting Multi-Sectoral Growth Through Space Technology

Under ISRO’s guidance, Chhattisgarh will implement satellite-based solutions for crop monitoring, flood and drought management, smart city planning, and real-time surveillance against deforestation and land encroachments. The initiative aims to bridge the gap between scientific research and on-ground applications, ensuring direct benefits for citizens and policymakers.

A Strategic Leap Towards Innovation-Driven Governance

Chief Minister Sai hailed the partnership as a transformative step toward a technology-driven governance model. “By integrating cutting-edge space technologies, we are not just improving governance but also creating a roadmap for the future. This will empower our research institutions and young scientists to contribute to nation-building,” he said.

With ISRO’s expertise and Chhattisgarh’s commitment to innovation, the collaboration is expected to usher in a new era of sustainable development, positioning the state as a leader in space-based applications for progress.
