TFP Bureau, Raipur, February 26, 2025: Khalin Joshi from Bengaluru produced a stunning nine-under 60 to grab a one-shot lead in the second round of the INR 1 Crore SECL Chhattisgarh Open 2025, presented by Chhattisgarh Tourism. Held at the Fairway Golf & Lake Resort in Naya Raipur, Joshi’s total score now stands at an impressive 14-under 124.

Joshi, a six-time pro title winner, equaled the tournament’s lowest score of 60, which was first set by Shaurya Binu in the opening round. With this remarkable performance, Joshi jumped 12 spots from a tied 13th place after day one to take the sole lead.

Shaurya Bhattacharya and Kartik Sharma Tied for Second
Delhi’s Shaurya Bhattacharya and Gurugram’s Kartik Sharma both shot impressive rounds of 61 and 62, respectively, to move into a tie for second place. Bhattacharya moved up 11 spots from the first round, while Sharma jumped five places. Both players are now at 13-under 125.

Binu Slips After Strong Start
Shaurya Binu, the first-round leader, posted a 67 in round two, dropping him to tied eighth with a total score of 11-under 127.

Hole-in-One for Shankar Das
Kolkata’s Shankar Das made a spectacular hole-in-one on the second hole, shooting a 66 to finish tied for 43rd with a score of four-under 134.

Cut Established at Four-Under
The cut for the tournament was set at four-under 134, with 60 professionals advancing to the final rounds.

Joshi’s Stunning Back-Nine Performance
Khalin Joshi’s round included a quiet front-nine, with three birdies and one bogey. However, he came alive on the back-nine with a chip-in eagle on the 12th hole and six birdies, despite one bogey. Joshi also made several key birdie putts from six to eight feet, and his strong ball striking combined with steady putting put him in a great rhythm.

“I was much better today in terms of ball striking compared to day one, and my putting was very steady. The eagle on the 12th really set the tone for the back-nine,” Joshi said. “The layout here is great. While the par-5 holes are manageable, the par-3 holes offer a good challenge. The windy conditions and obstacles at the Fairway Golf & Lake Resort also made it tricky.”

Among other top players, Udayan Mane (66) is tied for 15th at nine-under 129, and Om Prakash Chauhan (66) is tied for 32nd at six-under 132.
