TFP Bureau, Raipur, February 27, 2025: A visionary initiative by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has placed Chhattisgarh at the heart of the spiritual magnificence of Maha Kumbh 2025. Over 50,000 devotees from the state were able to participate in the world’s largest spiritual gathering, thanks to the establishment of the Chhattisgarh Pavilion at the Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj. This effort, in collaboration with Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath, offered free lodging, meals, and cultural immersion, ensuring that devotees from Chhattisgarh experienced the sacred event without worry.
In a call to action prior to the event, CM Sai had urged the people of Chhattisgarh to join in the spiritual grandeur of Maha Kumbh 2025, highlighting the state’s pavilion as a safe and welcoming haven. Over the course of 45 days, the pavilion became a sanctuary for Chhattisgarh’s devotees, enabling them to partake in the holy dip at the Triveni Sangam and embrace the spiritual energy of the Kumbh.
Chhattisgarh Pavilion: A Cultural and Spiritual Landmark
The Chhattisgarh Pavilion was not only a place of rest but a vibrant cultural hub. Spanning 4.5 acres in Sector 6, it became a major attraction for pilgrims and visitors. Unlike other pavilions that closed early, the Chhattisgarh Pavilion stayed open late, hosting captivating cultural performances that left visitors in awe. Folk artists from the state performed traditional dances and music, drawing crowds from across the country and beyond.
The pavilion’s design paid homage to Chhattisgarh’s heritage, with the iconic ‘Gaur Mukut’ of Bastar greeting visitors at the entrance. Inside, the statue of Chhattisgarh Mahtari (Mother Chhattisgarh) stood as a symbol of the state’s cultural pride. Visitors could also see displays of the region’s religious and historical significance, including its Buddhist sites, the majestic Chitrakote Waterfall, and modern landmarks like Naya Raipur.
Integrating Technology for Immersive Experiences
To engage visitors further, the pavilion featured a 360-degree immersive dome and Virtual Reality (VR) experiences, offering a virtual tour of Chhattisgarh’s diverse offerings. These technological additions provided a modern touch to the rich cultural displays, allowing visitors to explore the state’s rural life, art, and cuisine interactively.
A Pavilion Representing Unity and Inclusivity
As Maha Kumbh 2025 reached its grand conclusion, the Chhattisgarh Pavilion embodied the spirit of unity and inclusivity, which was central to the event. Offering free meals to all—regardless of caste, creed, or nationality—the pavilion became a symbol of Chhattisgarh’s warm hospitality. International visitors, too, left with a deep appreciation for the state’s cultural richness.
CM Vishnu Deo Sai’s Tribute to UP CM Yogi Adityanath
After the successful conclusion of the event, CM Vishnu Deo Sai congratulated UP CM Yogi Adityanath for the seamless hosting of the Maha Kumbh and thanked him for allocating space for the Chhattisgarh Pavilion. The initiative was a significant step in strengthening Chhattisgarh’s cultural and spiritual presence on the national stage.
Through this historic move, CM Vishnu Deo Sai not only connected Chhattisgarh’s 3 crore citizens to the spiritual essence of Maha Kumbh but also showcased the state as a land of cultural, religious, and spiritual significance.
A Legacy of Faith and Tradition
Under the leadership of CM Vishnu Deo Sai, Chhattisgarh has made an unforgettable mark on the global spiritual map. The Chhattisgarh Pavilion was more than just a resting place—it became a beacon of the state’s rich heritage and a testament to the power of faith, culture, and tradition. This initiative will inspire generations to come, solidifying Chhattisgarh’s position as a key player in India’s spiritual and cultural landscape.
