
TFP Bureau, Raipur, February 28, 2025 – The Planning, Economics and Statistics Department of the Chhattisgarh government has released advance estimates for the fiscal year 2024-25, projecting a significant rise in the state’s Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP). According to the report, GSDP at constant prices is expected to grow from Rs. 3,06,712 crore in 2023-24 to Rs. 3,29,752 crore in 2024-25, marking a 7.51% increase.
The press note highlights steady gains across key sectors. The agriculture and allied sector is forecast to grow by 5.38%, while the industry sector is set for a 6.92% rise. The services sector, however, is poised for a more robust expansion of 8.54%, underscoring its growing contribution to the state’s economy.
At current prices, the state’s GSDP is projected to reach Rs. 5,67,880 crore in 2024-25, up from Rs. 5,12,107 crore in the previous year – a growth rate of 10.89%. The estimates further reveal that the agriculture, industry, and services sectors will record increases of 9.27%, 9.22%, and 13.43%, respectively.
In addition to these encouraging figures, per capita income is estimated to rise by 9.37%, moving from Rs. 1,48,922 in 2023-24 to Rs. 1,62,870 in 2024-25. This improvement in income levels is seen as a reflection of the state’s overall economic advancement and the effectiveness of various government schemes aimed at fostering sustainable growth.
The detailed analysis, presented during the Assembly Budget Session, offers a comprehensive overview of the state’s economic progress, highlighting both the rapid growth in certain sectors and the broader socio-economic trends shaping Chhattisgarh’s future. Officials believe that these figures not only reinforce the state’s economic resilience but also set the stage for further developmental initiatives in the coming fiscal year .
