A Vision for Infrastructure, Industrial Growth, and Employment Under ‘Atal Nirman Varsh’

TFP Bureau, Raipur, March 3, 2025 – Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai hailed the Chhattisgarh Budget 2025-26 as a blueprint for rapid development, balancing the present needs with a vision for the future. Presented in the Legislative Assembly today, the budget lays a strong foundation for transforming Chhattisgarh into an industrial and IT hub while strengthening its agricultural economy.

“We have set an ambitious target to make Chhattisgarh a developed state under the guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Our focus is on preparing the state’s economy for modern challenges while ensuring inclusive growth,” said CM Sai.

A Budget Focused on Speed and Growth

Chief Minister Sai emphasized that the theme of this year’s budget is ‘Speed for Knowledge’, aligning with the government’s strategy to enhance:

  • Good Governance
  • Infrastructure Acceleration
  • Technological Advancements
  • Rapid Industrial Growth

“This budget will ensure that Chhattisgarh moves forward with speed and efficiency,” he said.

Key Budget Highlights:

  • ₹26,000 crore allocated for capital expenditure, an 18% increase from last year.
  • ₹700 crore for new industrial parks and a ₹1,500 crore provision for irrigation projects.
  • Raipur-Durg Metro survey planned to enhance urban connectivity.
  • Agricultural investments with a focus on modernizing farming techniques.
  • Rivers like Mahanadi-Indravati and Kodar-Sikasar to be connected, fulfilling a vision of former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

Empowering Youth and Industry

The budget also prioritizes enterprise, employment, and skill development:

  • 12 new engineering colleges and 12 polytechnic institutes to support the industrial sector.
  • ₹700 crore in industrial subsidies for startups and new businesses.
  • New hospitals, modern schools, and increased staffing to strengthen human resource development.

“This budget is not just a financial plan but a commitment to making Chhattisgarh an economic powerhouse. Our triple-engine government is accelerating progress, and these provisions will further boost growth,” CM Sai added.

Honoring Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s Vision

Marking Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s birth centenary year, the government has dedicated this year as ‘Atal Nirman Varsh’, focusing on large-scale infrastructure and economic reforms.

“Atal ji dreamed of a developed Chhattisgarh. We are turning his vision into reality through massive investments in infrastructure, industry, and agriculture,” said the Chief Minister.

Commitment to Inclusive Growth

Aligned with ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas’, the budget ensures:

  • Welfare provisions for Antyodaya (poorest of the poor) following the ideals of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay.
  • Continued support for farmers, youth, women, and tribal communities.
  • New social welfare schemes alongside the expansion of existing programs.
