TFP Bureau, Raipur, March 6, 2025: Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU), a prominent institution for legal education and research, is set to host its 8th Convocation on March 8, 2025, at Hotel Babylon Capital, Raipur. The ceremony will witness the graduation of 161 students from the B.A.LL.B. (Hons) program, 90 from the LL.M. program, and one Ph.D. scholar. Out of these, 125 B.A.LL.B. students, 57 LL.M. students will receive their degrees in person, while 26 B.A.LL.B. students and 30 LL.M. students will receive their degrees in absentia.
Esteemed Dignitaries to Attend and Award Degrees
The convocation will be graced by Hon’ble Mr. Justice P.S. Narasimha, Judge of the Supreme Court of India, as the Chief Guest. Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, and Shri Arun Sao, the Deputy Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, will be among the Guests of Honour. The degrees will be conferred by Hon’ble Mr. Justice Ramesh Sinha, Chief Justice of the High Court of Chhattisgarh and Chancellor of HNLU. The ceremony will also be attended by other distinguished figures such as Hon’ble Mr. Justice Sanjay K Agrawal of the Chhattisgarh High Court and Hon’ble Mr. Justice P. Sam Koshy of the Telangana High Court.
Awarding of Gold Medals for Academic Excellence
The convocation will highlight the exceptional academic achievements of students, with 36 Gold Medals being awarded to the top performers. Among the prestigious awards are the Chancellor’s Gold Medal, University’s Gold Medal for the best outgoing student, and several memorial gold medals, including those in memory of late Shri Hamidullah Khan, Shri Vidyadhar Mishra, and others.
Celebrating HNLU’s Academic Milestones in 2024
In 2024, HNLU achieved several significant milestones. These include the launch of the CG-LEARN (Chhattisgarh Legal Education & Research Network) and H-VISA (Visiting International Scholars Academy), as well as the signing of its first international MoU with Texas A&M University’s School of Law. The university also hosted its inaugural international moot court competition and national competitions such as the NHRC National Moot Court Competition.
Continued Excellence and Future Prospects
HNLU has been consistently recognized for its contribution to legal education. It was ranked 5th among law colleges by India Today. In addition to its ongoing academic achievements, HNLU will release an edited book on Blockchain, Cryptocurrency, and Fintech Measures at the upcoming convocation. The ceremony will be live-streamed on the HNLU YouTube channel to ensure wider participation from alumni and the public.
