
TFP Bureau, Raipur, March 6, 2025: Mahila Madai organized on the theme of Empowered Women, Prosperous Women at Science College Ground, Raipur is getting good response from people. In the Mahila Madai running from March 4, stalls have been set up for sale by 87 women self-help groups from all 33 districts of the state, in which mainly Ektal Bell Metal from Raigarh, Jaggery material manufactured by the group from Surajpur, Bell Metal from Bastar, Kosa from Janjgir Champa and Sakti, Handloom Silk Saree, Para Art from Gariaband, Tokni from Jashpur, material produced from Mahua, Shringar Vastra material from Bilaspur, fragrant rice produced from Balrampur and Surajpur are attracting crowd of people, especially women.
The nodal officer of Mahila Madai said that women self-help groups have sold goods worth more than 50 thousand rupees. There is a possibility of more goods being sold in the Madai till March 8, Women’s Day.
The 87 stalls set up in the Mahila Madai can be visited from 12 noon to 10 pm.
A selfie zone has been created in the Madai which is the center of attraction. Along with this, a play zone has also been created for children, in which attractive swings and toys have been arranged.
The stalls of Nava Bihaan, Mahtari Vandan Sakhi Center, Women Helpline, Disha Darshan, Kanya Vivah, Sponsorship, Foster Care, Child Welfare Committee, Juvenile Justice Board, Child Helpline, Child Marriage, Adoption and Adarsh Anganwadi Center in the Mahila Madai remained the center of attraction among the people. A cultural evening is also being organized in this Madai fair, in which Chhattisgarhi folk artists have got a chance to showcase their talent.
In the Madai fair, free stalls are being provided for the sale and display of products produced by women self-help groups of women and child development department as well as groups of other departments like NRLM, Forest Department, Panchayat Department etc. Apart from this, stalls have also been provided to registered women entrepreneurs, producers, start-ups with the aim of providing opportunities for local women entrepreneurs and women to move forward.
