Chhattisgarh Marks International Women’s Day with Empowerment Initiatives and Recognition of Women Achievements

TFP Bureau, Raipur, March 7, 2025: On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Chhattisgarh will celebrate the strength and empowerment of women with a grand Mahatari Vandan Sammelan and the state-level Mahila Madai at Science College Ground, Raipur on March 8. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai will serve as the chief guest for the event, which will also be presided over by Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh. Other dignitaries in attendance will include Cabinet Ministers, MPs, MLAs, Raipur Mayor, and Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Laxmi Rajwada.

Chhattisgarh’s Mahtari Vandan Yojana Reaches New Milestone
In celebration of the one-year anniversary of the successful Mahtari Vandan Yojana, CM Shri Sai will distribute the 13th installment of the scheme to approximately 70 lakh women across the state. This initiative, which began in March 2024 with the first installment transferred virtually in the presence of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, has seen Rs 7,838 crore disbursed to women in 12 installments. This scheme continues to strengthen the economic empowerment of mothers and sisters across Chhattisgarh.

Launch of ‘Samman Suvidha System’ for Anganwadi Workers
A new initiative, the “Samman Suvidha System,” will be launched by Chief Minister Shri Sai to streamline the honorarium payment process for Anganwadi workers and assistants. For the first time, the Chief Minister will directly oversee the payments through a digital, centralized system. The system will ensure timely, transparent payments based on regular attendance, recorded via a facial recognition system.

Chhattisgarh Pioneers SOP for ‘Sakhi One Stop Centres’
Chhattisgarh will become the first state in India to implement a standard operating procedure (SOP) for its Sakhi One Stop Centres. These centers provide critical support to women in distress, allowing them to file complaints through online platforms and mobile apps. CM Shri Sai will also inaugurate the newly constructed building of the Regional Women’s Training Institute in Bilaspur and launch the Child Marriage Free Chhattisgarh Abhiyan portals.

Honoring Women Leaders in Empowerment
The event will also honor 32 outstanding Anganwadi workers, three best-performing Sakhi One Stop Centres, two Women Protection Officers from the Nava Bihaan Yojana, and other women who have made exceptional contributions to women’s empowerment in the state.

State-Level Mahila Madai: A Platform for Women’s Entrepreneurship
Running from March 4 to 8, 2025, the State-Level Mahila Madai organized by the Department of Women and Child Development showcases over 100 stalls featuring products from women self-help groups and women entrepreneurs. The event aims to promote women’s entrepreneurship and self-reliance, with a special focus on ensuring public representatives from across the state understand and support the initiatives designed to empower women.

More than 50,000 Women to Join the Mahatari Vandan Sammelan
Over 50,000 women, including mothers, daughters, and sisters, from across Chhattisgarh will gather at the Mahatari Vandan Sammelan. The event is being hailed as a Mahakumbh of women’s empowerment, emphasizing social upliftment, economic independence, and the government’s dedication to improving women’s lives through various welfare schemes.

This grand event will not only honor the mothers, sisters, and daughters of Chhattisgarh but will also ensure that the benefits of government schemes reach as many women as possible.
