TFP Bureau, Raipur, March 10, 2025: In a significant development in the state’s much-discussed liquor scam case, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted raids at 14 locations across Chhattisgarh today. Among the key targets was the Bhilai Charoda residence of former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. The ED team arrived in two vehicles and questioned Baghel’s son, Chaitanya Baghel, while probing various documents at the residence.
This action is part of a broader investigation into multiple high-profile cases, including the Mahadev Satta, Coal Scam, and Liquor Scam. A team of officers is reported to be searching for crucial documents at Baghel’s house, part of an ongoing investigation into alleged financial irregularities.
The raids are also significant in the political context, with Bijapur MLA Vikram Mandavi visiting Baghel’s Raipur residence during the operation. The ED’s crackdown has sparked a response from Bhupesh Baghel, who took to social media to express his views. In a tweet, he referred to the investigation as a continuation of a “false case” that had been dismissed in court seven years ago. He also suggested that the move was part of an attempt to thwart Congress in Punjab, calling it a “misunderstanding.”
The ED’s extensive action across the state today signals a continued push to uncover illegal financial activities linked to the liquor scam and other high-profile cases.
