Secretary of Balrampur-Ramanujganj District, Reena Baba Saheb Kangale, Visits Village Jhalaria

TFP Bureau, Raipur, July 4, 2025: Smt. Reena Baba Saheb Kangale, Secretary of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection and In-charge Secretary of Balrampur-Ramanujganj District, undertook a one-day visit to Gram Panchayat Jhalaria in Balrampur Development Block. The visit focused on assessing the ground realities of various public welfare schemes by interacting directly with beneficiaries and inspecting the progress of scheme implementation.

Welcomed by local women with traditional songs and rituals, Smt. Kangale engaged with villagers, including Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana beneficiary Smt. Manki Devi, discussing improvements in living standards due to the new housing. She also planted a mango sapling under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign, emphasizing the symbolic and emotional importance of tree planting for environmental protection.

During the ongoing Water Conservation Week, Smt. Kangale took part in Shramdaan by helping construct a soak pit in Smt. Devi’s residence, urging the community to take collective responsibility for water conservation. “Water preservation is not just a government duty but a societal one. Awareness at the village level is key to securing our water future,” she said.

The Secretary also visited the home of Smt. Phoolmati Kumaria, known as “Lakhpati Didi,” who cultivates tomatoes on one acre of land supported by a self-help group loan. Phoolmati shared her success story, having sold tomatoes worth Rs 70,000 and aiming for further growth. She gifted a basket of tomatoes to Smt. Kangale as a token of gratitude. Praising her efforts, the Secretary said, “Women like Phoolmati exemplify self-reliance and inspire their families and communities.”

Additionally, Smt. Kangale inspected the village’s Public Distribution System (PDS) fair price shop, reviewing records, storage, and distribution processes, and underscored that no beneficiary should be denied ration. She then visited the Anganwadi Centre, inquiring about nutrition, attendance, vaccination, and cleanliness, stressing that care for pregnant women and children must be closely monitored without negligence.

District Panchayat CEO Mrs. Nayantara Singh Tomar, self-help group women, and local villagers accompanied the Secretary during her visit.
