“Didi Ki Rasoi” serves delicious food like home to the workers and bachelors
25/03/23; Bureau report (Surguja): The group of Women’s of Mahila Bahuuddeshiya Sahakari Samiti (MUBSS) have started “Didi ki Rasoi” a tiffin service under the guidance of Adani Foundation. The service has inaugurated on tuesday, March 21st at village Parsa to encourage the women empowerment scheam.
The objective of this initiative is to make the committee members self-reliant with new means of livelihood and to provide home-style food to the working people.
Workers and especially bachelors working in the Parsa East Kete Bassen a only opencast mine of Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited, located in Udaipur tehsil of the district, have always been in search of home-like food. Describing it as a better livelihood opportunity by the Adani Foundation, assistance was provided for the Tiffin distribution program to the women of MUBSS. “Didi Ki Rasoi” a tiffin service will serve, delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner to the available factory workers, office workers, contractors etc at a reasonable price.
Mrs. Anita Singh, President of MUBSS told that “It was long awaited demand from the mine to supply the tiffin. Today, under the guidance of Adani Foundation, we have started the “Didi Ki Rasoi” to fulfill it. We will serve delicious home-style food at reasonable cost. Presently our firm has a contract with the Adani Vidya Mandir for cooking of nutritious mid day meals for more than 800 students of the school located in village Salhi are being cooked by the women of our committee. This is such a unique model where our children also study. Which is being appreciated a lot as well.”
RRVUNL runs various social responsibility programs like quality education, health, livelihood upgradation and infrastructure development etc. in more than 14 villages of the region. More than 60 rural women are getting employment in MUBSS under livelihood upgradation. Various products such as manufacturing of sanitary pads, distribution of pure drinking water, dairy farms, spice processing unit etc. are being operated by these committee of rural women in the area. Under the expansion of women empowerment the units of “Didi Ki Rasoi” will prove to be another example of upgradation of livelihood of some other women along with it.
