President Draupadi Murmu Encourages Graduates at Guru Ghasidas University Convocation

The event saw President Murmu awarding degrees to a remarkable 2,946 students, with a noteworthy 60% of recipients being young women, marking significant progress toward women’s empowerment.
Addressing the convocation, President Murmu likened life’s journey to the Chandrayaan mission, emphasizing the importance of facing challenges with resilience and unwavering determination. She lauded India’s successful lunar landing and stressed the years of tireless effort put in despite numerous obstacles, drawing a parallel to personal endeavors.
President Murmu initiated her speech by hailing the recent milestone of India’s tricolor reaching the moon’s surface, commending the scientists responsible for this historic achievement. She urged the university to organize events fostering scientific temper and promoting fundamental duties, highlighting the importance of scientific advancement in modern society.
The President noted the university’s advanced laboratories and accelerator-based research center, encouraging it to gain recognition on the global stage through groundbreaking research. She acknowledged the challenges faced during space missions and the importance of perseverance.
President Murmu highlighted the significance of Guru Ghasidas University, named after a proponent of equality, as a beacon for youth to follow the path of happiness and contribute to a civilized society.
Swami Vivekananda’s legacy was also evoked, with President Murmu emphasizing his role in raising India’s stature on the global stage and urging the younger generation to draw inspiration from his self-confidence.
