Chhattisgarh’s First Tennis Academy Set to Serve Youth with World-Class Facilities

TFP Bureau, Raipur; Sep 26, 2023:  The Chhattisgarh Government continues its stride towards promoting sports and providing top-tier facilities for the youth of the state. In a significant development, Chhattisgarh’s first Tennis Academy has been established in Raipur, following in the footsteps of the International Cricket Stadium and the International Hockey Stadium, all aimed at nurturing sports talent within the region.

The grand inauguration of the Tennis Sports Academy, located in Labhandi area, Raipur, is scheduled for September 27, and it will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel. This state-of-the-art facility has been constructed at a cost of Rs 17.15 crore, making it the largest tennis academy in Chhattisgarh. The event will also see the presence of Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Mr. Umesh Patel and PWD Minister Mr. Tamradhwaj Sahu.

Spanning across an impressive 4-acre expanse, the Tennis Sports Academy is divided into three key sections. The first section includes an administrative building, three-story accommodation facilities, a spacious hall, a modern gym, a VIP lounge, and a media center. It further boasts a spectator seating capacity of 500. The second section is devoted to a hostel building, another three-story structure, housing offices, director’s rooms, parking facilities, a well-equipped kitchen, and a dining area. The third and final section takes center stage with the Main Stadium, capable of hosting up to 2500 spectators. This world-class facility aims to provide comprehensive resources and amenities to nurture tennis talent within the region.

Key Highlights of the Tennis Academy:

– The academy features a primary synthetic tennis court along with five additional practice synthetic courts.

– In total, the academy encompasses a sprawling 4-acre area.

– The tennis courts are surfaced with Ultra Cushion, a 9-layer synthetic material, ensuring optimal performance.

– The main tennis court offers seating for 2000 spectators, while the main building includes a VIP lounge with seating for 500.

– The stadium is equipped with dedicated parking space for up to 150 vehicles.

– High-capacity lighting, with 40,000-watt lights and a lux level of 1500 for the main tennis court, and 4900-watt lights with a lux level of 500 for each practice court, meets international standards.

– A 315 KV substation ensures a consistent power supply, complemented by a 165 KV DG set for emergency power requirements.

– The hostel and main building are air-conditioned to meet the comfort and convenience of players.

– The hostel provides accommodation in 46 rooms, accommodating a total of 92 players, along with a dedicated dining hall for their meals.

The establishment of Chhattisgarh’s first Tennis Academy reflects the state government’s commitment to nurturing talent and providing world-class sports infrastructure for the youth of the region.
