Chhattisgarh Government Appoints District Collectors Ahead of Vidhan Sabha Election 2023

  • Avnish Kumar Sharan Takes Charge as Bilaspur Collector, Kartikeya Goyal as Raigarh Collector

TFP Bureau, Raipur; Oct 13, 2023: In preparation for the upcoming Vidhan Sabha election of 2023 in Chhattisgarh, the state government has swiftly appointed district collectors for Bilaspur and Raigarh, which had been vacant following a recommendation from the Election Commission for the transfer of previous collectors, including IPS officers.

The appointments were made as follows:

1. Shri Avnish Kumar Sharan, I.P.S. (2009), who previously served as the Director of Technical Education, Employment and Training and Chief Executive Officer in charge of the Chhattisgarh State Skill Development Authority, has been temporarily posted as the Collector of District Bilaspur until further orders.

2. Shri Kartikeya Goyal, I.P.S. (2010), who held the position of Director of Panchayat, has been temporarily posted as the Collector of District Raigarh until further orders.

3. Ms. Iffat Ara, I.P.S. (2012), who was the Managing Director of Holistic Education and Additional Commissioner for Chhattisgarh, has been assigned additional responsibilities. In addition to her present duties, she will also take on the role of Joint Secretary for the Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Protection Department. Furthermore, she will serve as the Managing Director of Markfed and the Managing Director of NAN.

These appointments come as part of the state’s preparations for the upcoming Vidhan Sabha election, ensuring that key administrative roles are filled to oversee the electoral process and maintain the effective functioning of these districts.
